Columbus Cats Return-to-Footy Guidance
20 May 2020 by Dean Panik
In an effort to provide a pathway for returning to football while ensuring safety of our members, families, friends, and communities yet still provide some clarity regarding the status of events we are issuing the following guidance. We will start official club training no earlier than three weeks after contact sports is allowed by the Ohio Department of Health’s Responsible RestartOhio program. Furthermore, we will have at least two weeks of official club training before playing our first USAFL inter-club game. Finally, the status of the other club involved in a fixture is dictated by their local conditions and it is understood that both clubs must feel reasonably comfortable and safe before any inter-club game takes place. The result is that any of our matches where the above conditions for contact sport safety are not met within the above timeframes (combined five weeks) will certainly not happen. We will also inform you of any fixtures which are canceled or postponed in advance of the five-week timetable. Also, we will keep you updated regarding the mandatory and additional best practices we will follow as we restart football operations. We thank you for your patience and understanding. We hope you all stay healthy and safe.
Sincerely,
Dean
